Training with Hinako - Anime Fitness Video... Ecchi style!!!
Friday, 3 April 2009
This ain't a pretty Spring Anime 2009 preview
This is the link you can check to see sumarries and RAW PVs of the new animes this spring:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-478024/spring-anime-2009-list/
As for what I'm (Stress on "I" as other bloggers on our site will have different tastes in anime) going to be looking at this spring:
Queens Blade - Rurou no Senshi:
Purely because it's ecchi.
Pandora Hearts:
Sick and twisted Alice in Wonderland? Hoorah! Sounds sadistic!
Tayutama -Kiss on my Deity-:
Another ecchi, Kannagi-ish anime?? Except it looks like it's leaning towards the cute typical ecchi side.
Hatsukoi Gentei:
Another Ichigo 100%... Maybe I'll just watch this one to wind-down.
Shangri-LaI'm most interested in this one! Futuristic and modern plus it looks like it's going to comment on what the future would be like with the whole global warming issue going on right now. That with some action looks like my cup of tea.
Asura Cryin':
I posted the PV yesterday. I'll check it out despite the fact that I have no clue what direction this anime is taking.
Valkyria Chronicles:
Initially absoultely no interest in this but after seeing it ranked by the people who took the survey of http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/survey/170/resultI'll probably check it out...!
Basquash:
They call it "Bigfoot Basketball" which takes place on a planet called "Earthdash". I probably won't cover this one, but uytr77 is keen on futuristic mecha stuff so I guess he'll be interested.
K-ON:
If you scroll down a bit, you'll porbably see the K-ON Trailer I posted. I probably won't have to say but I will cover this, just because it looks super cute!
That, by the way, is a list of what I'm interested in. I'll probably check out more than this but I won't take up anymore than 2 - 3 series due to exams. T.T

Asura Cryin' Promotion Material (Trailer)
You're in luck! I just came across another one!
Here's the youtube link for better quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e08wxwhIU-o
Summary (from the New Animes of Spring 2009 picture):
A both lighthearted and serious school action story revolving around Tomoharu Natsume, a boy who has been haunted by a gohstly girl who seems to be his childhood friend.
(Wikipedia has a completely useless article about this which only consists of one epically useless paragraph)
Thoughts:
I wonder if they've mixed up the summary with something else... Or perhaps I have? Because the PV (Promo Vid.) seems to be the complete opposite of the summary. Leaving the summary aside, judging from the trailer, the animation and art looks solid. But what's the plot? Because the summary seems a bit dodgy, I have arrived at my own conclusion for the plot. Looks like another anime where a dude is dragged in to this weird secret/organisation/world (what ever you want) and he ends up saving the world from the apocalypse... I guess we'll just have to wait and see... The sub should be out any time soon since the RAW (unsubbed) is already out literally everywhere.

"Tears to Tiara" & "Eden of the East" Promotion Material (Trailer)
Eden of the East Trailer (AKA: Higashi No Eden):
Here's the youtube link for better quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_w_hMbVTt4
Summary (I dont think I need to tell you where I copied it from T.T):
The series begins on November 22, 2010 with a missile strike against an uninhabited area of Japan, claiming no victims. This apparent terrorist act is referred to as "Careless Monday" and disregarded by most people. Three months later, in the United States of America, a young Japanese woman named Saki Morimi is visiting Washington D.C. as part of her graduation trip. When she gets into trouble, a mysterious Japanese man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, helps her through it. The man appears to have no memory and is completely naked, carrying only a gun and a cell phone charged with 8.2 billion yen in digital money.
Thoughts:
After I read the summary, I was like "meh, too serious, it would probably bore the shit out of me". But hey, the promo as convinced me to watch it! The characters looks likeable, the plot has potential, plus it's laced with comedy and possibly romance? Sounds good to me!
Tears to Tiara Trailer:
Here's the youtube link for better quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bNKyaX9hBw
Summary (Actually, I had to copy the summary from the Spring Timetable Picture that I posted earlier on T.T):
Riannon is set to be sacrificed to appease resurrected demon lord, named Arawn. As her brother Arthur attempts to rescue her. Arawn defires those who resurrected him and frees Riannon from her captors, leading to her admiration for him. Arawn acts as a leader and assembles a party of companions.
Because this is wikipedia's one:
A Demon King named Arawn was sealed away for 1,000 years. After a girl named Rhiannon (Ri-a-n-no-n) released him, they started to travel together and she becomes emotionally attached to him.
(Pretty feeble, isn't it?)
Thoughts:
Unlike Eden of the East, this was a "meh" when I read the summary and still is a "meh" after the promo video. Still I'll check out the first episode but it just feels way too generic... I don't know how to explain it. I feel like it's been done before. Just slightly different. Well, final word is it doesn't interest me at all. But if other Bloggers are interested then maybe those of you who are interested are in luck!
PS: Since the spring shows seem to be popping up here and there in some sites and torrents, I'm going to give you post a quick preview on the New Animes of Spring 2009 which will be following this update shortly. (Sorry for doing this a bit late T.T)

Pandora Hearts Promotion Material (Trailer)
Here's another one I managed to get my hands on. I forgot to mention on the last post, but these 2 promos are subbed. It ain't easy to come about! (especially for a noob like me whose trying to work his way up the bloggers food chain). And no one bothers to sub promos, I guess...
Here's the youtube link for better quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz8j0-zDdMY
Summary (again copied shamelessly from wikipedia T.T):
Oz Bezarius, heir to one of the duke houses, has just turned fifteen. His life is rich and carefree, darkened only by the constant absence of his father. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, he's cast into the prison known as the "Abyss", only to be saved by a "chain" known as Alice, the bloodstained black rabbit. The mystery there begins as Oz unravels the mystery behind Alice, the Abyss and the strange organization know as Pandora. The series features heavy references to Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" and can be considered both fantasy and mystery.
Thoughts:
To be honest... This show sort of gives me the creeps... In a good way, if you know what I mean. I don't know much about it but the promo looks pretty exciting (but then again... That's the whole point of promos!). In addition, a sadistic and twisted version of Alice's Adventure in Wonderland sounds awesome to me. I'm sure most of you have watched the Disney version, if you don't remember have a read on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_wonderland). Caution, it's a complete time-waster! But it'll refresh your memory.
Following this post, either tonight or tomorrow, I'll put up an update version of the Spring Season Anime 2009 and give you plenty of links with all the promo videos of the new shows (not subbed though, but you'll get the jist of it... It's not like they talk a lot in promos).

K-ON Promotion Material (Trailer)
Here's the new K-ON anime promotion material I managed to get my hands on. Hopefully I'll get my hands on more later.
It's also on my YouTube Channel if you want better quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlN2yMP8EJ0
Summary:
K-On!'s story revolves around four Japanese high school girls who join their school's light music club to try to save it from being abolished. However, they are the only members of the club, and none of them have any experience playing musical instruments or reading sheet music.
(Copied shamelessly from wikipedia T.T)
Thoughts:
Now there's not a lot to say except that it looks frickin' cute and promising. Definitely going to be one to blog about.

New series next week
Just giving you the heads up!
P.S: I would like to apologize on behalf of our bloggers for being rather inactive since we started. This is because we all have public exams coming up so we've been swamped with revision material and immense pressure. After May/June, we'd try again to take this blog off the ground since it's rather feeble right now...

Spring 2009 Anime Preview
I've nicked off a forum which I use:
Also, check this out: http://www.zomgforums.com/anime-related-news/7612-spring-2009-anime-preview.html
The list is still being updated so keep checking...
To be honest, I havent heard of any of the new animes before so I'll probably have to check out the first episode of most and decide which one I'll go through with. As for the OVAs, I'm really looking forward to see the continuation of some series such as To Love-Ru and Spice and Wolf which were great fun to watch last year.
If there are any requests, please don't be shy and tell us!
We'd gladly blog it,
